Hungarian website suggests January launch for Garmin Instinct 3

Garmin’s official website in Hungary has made a reference to the Instinct 3 watch, suggesting the launch might happen in January. This is the strongest indication yet that the company is preparing to launch its next-generation Instinct smartwatch.

The brief text, which appeared in Google search results, mentions “Garmin Instinct 3” alongside a reference to health monitoring, though the linked page redirects to Garmin’s homepage. While the listing is accompanied by an image, it appeared to show a Fenix series watch rather than the new Instinct model.

A translation of the Hungarian text reads as follows: “Start the new year with a new watch — monitoring your health with care all day. Garmin Instinct 3. Long…”

That’s where the text ends.

A January launch?

The timing of this leak aligns with Garmin’s typical release patterns. While the company traditionally maintains a low profile at CES in Las Vegas, it often hosts dedicated launch events in the weeks following the trade show. This suggests we might see the Instinct 3 debut in the latter half of January, marking one of the first major smartwatch launches of 2025.

The Instinct line has built a dedicated following since its 2018 debut, known for combining rugged durability with comprehensive fitness tracking. The series has seen measured but meaningful evolution over the years, starting with the original model’s focus on outdoor functionality. In July 2020, Garmin expanded the line with a solar variant, demonstrating the company’s commitment to extended battery life. An eSports edition followed, catering to a unique segment of the market.

The most recent major update came in February 2022 with the Instinct 2, which brought significant improvements to the display and overall functionality. Later that year, Garmin introduced the innovative Instinct Crossover, a hybrid design that maintained the core features while adding analog watch hands for a more traditional aesthetic.

While alleged images of the device surfaced online during summer 2023, their authenticity remains unconfirmed. The Hungarian website leak, though brief, marks the first indication from an official Garmin source about the new model’s existence.

Details about new features and specifications remain under wraps. No doubt, as the release date approaches there will be a retailer leak or two.
