Samsung Galaxy Fit3 makes its way to US consumers this January
The Samsung Galaxy Fit3 is finally coming to the US market after debuting in select regions nearly a year ago. Starting January 9th, the sleek fitness tracker will be available for just $59.99, bringing an affordable yet feature-packed option to the American audience.
The Fit3’s delayed arrival in the US has raised questions about Samsung’s market strategy. Initially launched in February 2024, the tracker was limited to specific regions, likely due to Samsung focusing on countries where affordable wearables see the most demand. The delay could also reflect Samsung’s hesitation to challenge competitors like Fitbit and Garmin in the already saturated US market. Now, with a competitive price and solid features, the Fit3 seems poised to appeal to a broad audience.
Samsung Galaxy Fit3 – what’s new and improved?
The obvious question is – what is new? Well, the Galaxy Fit3 offers a clear upgrade over its predecessor, the Fit2, particularly in design and display.
While the Fit2 featured a smaller, less vibrant 1.1-inch AMOLED screen, the Fit3 boasts a much larger 1.6-inch AMOLED display. We are almost entering smartwatch territory here! Regardless, the larger display makes it easier to view fitness stats and notifications at a glance. The Fit3’s aluminum body also feels more premium compared to the Fit2’s polycarbonate build, offering a more refined experience without pushing the bar into the premium price range.
Samsung didn’t just stop at looks—functionality saw a boost as well. The Fit3 includes an SpO2 sensor and barometric altimeter, adding advanced health-tracking options that the Fit2 lacked. And let’s not forget the fall detection ability and SOS messages.
This makes Fit3 more appealing to users who want detailed health insights. However, one trade-off comes in battery life. While the Fit2 offered up to 15 days of typical usage, the Fit3 is rated for 13 days.
