Active 2 brings fresh style & upgraded features to Amazfit fans

The Amazfit Active 2 smartwatch has debuted at CES 2025, drawing attention with its sleek round design. It comes equipped with the advanced BioTracker 6.0 PPG sensor and significant upgrades over its predecessor.

When Amazfit launched the original Active smartwatch in late 2023, it delivered a solid entry into the fitness wearables space. With a simple rectangular design, basic sensors, and support for 100 sports modes, it catered well to those wanting an affordable, straightforward smartwatch. However, it lacked advanced features and a standout design, leaving room for improvement. The Amazfit Active 2 takes that foundation and elevates it, offering a premium experience with far more versatility.

What’s new with the Amazfit Active 2?

Zepp Health has given the Active 2 a complete makeover, and it’s hard not to notice. The watch now rocks a sleek 1.32-inch round AMOLED display with a sharp 466 x 466 resolution and an impressive 2,000 nits of peak brightness. Translation? You’ll have no trouble checking your stats even in glaring sunlight.

The tech upgrades are equally impressive. The BioTracker 6.0 PPG sensor is a standout, delivering even more accurate health data. In fact this is Zepp Health’s first watch with the new sensor which features a dual-LED and 5PD build. You get all the basics including a Readiness Score, HRV and more. Zepp Health says the sleep algorithms should be more accurate than before.

Amazfit has also thrown in a barometric altimeter and an ambient light sensor, making this watch a solid choice for those who like to explore the great outdoors. There are nearly 40 new sports modes (bringing the total to over 160) to explore, including skiing, stair climbing, and golf swing tracking. If strength training is your thing, the watch’s smart mode can automatically detect exercises and even count your reps, sets, and rest periods.

Getting around with the Active 2 is a breeze, thanks to its support for five satellite systems. You can upload offline maps and routes directly to the watch, complete with turn-by-turn directions. Whether you’re navigating trails or city streets, the guidance can appear on-screen or be played via the built-in speaker or Bluetooth headphones.

Zepp Health hasn’t skimped on the essentials either. The Active 2 offers a robust 10-day battery life under typical use, so you won’t need to worry about constant recharging.
