Amazfit T-Rex 3 owners frustrated with battery drain after update
The Amazfit T-Rex 3 smartwatch is facing complaints about battery drain following a recent software update. Some users have noticed that their devices are losing battery power faster than expected. The issue is seemingly tied to the rollout of version 3.4.4.7 earlier this month.
Reports from Reddit paint a clearer picture of the frustration. Before the update, most T-Rex 3 owners reported daily battery usage of around 2-7%. The timepiece is known for excellent battery longevity. Post-update, however, the number has jumped to 5-10% per day. This makes a noticeable dent in the watch’s performance.
Restarting the device does not help, so that has been ruled out. Some users suspect the new active heart rate monitoring feature is the culprit, as the constant tracking may be consuming more power than planned. A few have managed to reduce the drain by turning off this feature.
This can be done by opening up the Zepp Health smartphone app > clicking on watch > health monitor > toggling the switch in the 4th option.

Zepp Health has acknowledged the issue, with a representative suggesting that users submit feedback via the Zepp app to help the team investigate. There’s no official word on when a fix will arrive, but the company has not ruled out the possibility of adjusting or pausing the update rollout in the meantime.
Some users have also speculated that other features introduced in the update, like smoother notification animations, might be taxing the watch’s processor, further contributing to the drain. For a few, charging the device to 100% overnight seemed to stabilize battery performance, though results have varied. It’s worth a try if you are one of the ones affected by the issue.
