The sound is crisp, the ANC does a great job of cutting out background noise, and the battery life is solid enough that you’re not constantly looking for a charger. With LDAC support and a triple-driver setup, they deliver way better audio quality than most budget earbuds. The bass could be stronger, but overall, the soundstage is spacious and balanced.
Noise cancellation is also impressive, making a real difference in loud environments, and the call quality is surprisingly clear, with solid background noise reduction. Spatial audio adds an immersive touch, and while transparency mode could be better, it’s good enough for quick conversations.
They’re not perfect—the touch controls aren’t the snappiest, and there’s no wireless charging—but for what you’re paying, those are minor trade-offs. If you want great sound, strong ANC, and battery life that won’t let you down, the Redmi Buds 6 Pro are an easy recommendation.

Redmi Buds 6 Pro review: Design, hardware
The Redmi Buds 6 Pro keep things simple in the looks department. They’re sleek, lightweight, and have a clean, minimalist design. Nothing flashy or out-of-the ordinary, but they don’t look cheap either. The matte finish helps keep fingerprints away, and they sit nicely in the ear without sticking out awkwardly. The charging case follows the same style—compact and easy to slip into a pocket, though it doesn’t feel particularly premium. But a solid look, overall.
Comfort is on par, as well. The buds are light enough that you can wear them for hours without any issues. The shape works well for me, and the included silicone tips help with noise isolation. They also stay put during workouts or long listening sessions, which is always a plus. If you’ve had trouble with earbuds feeling too bulky or uncomfortable, these are a good bet.
Controls are mostly good, but not perfect. The buds use touch gestures, and while they’re responsive, there’s sometimes a slight delay when triggering commands. You can play/pause music, skip tracks, and switch ANC on and off, as well as control the volume. This is done by tapping or swiping the buds.
Everything is customisable and you’ll need the Xiaomi Earbuds app to tweak the gesture control settings. The touch-sensitive area is in a decent spot on the outside of the buds. I’ve noticed, there may be occasions where you accidentally trigger a function – but it will not happen too often. It’s something that comes with the territory.
Overall, the Redmi Buds 6 Pro look nice, feel good in the ears, and are comfortable enough for all-day use. The touch controls work, but they’re not the best out there. If you’re after something stylish, lightweight, and practical, they’ll do the job.
Battery life
Battery life on the Redmi Buds 6 Pro is pretty solid, especially for the price. On a full charge, you’re looking at around 8 to 10 hours of playback, depending on whether you have ANC on or off. Other settings like switching on head tracking also effect battery life.
With the case, you get a total of about 40 hours, which means you won’t be reaching for the charger too often. If you’re just using them casually throughout the day, you can easily go a few days before needing to top up. They should also last a full night of sleep.
Charging is fairly quick. A short 10-minute charge gives you around 2 hours of playback, which is a nice plus if you’re in a hurry. The case charges via USB-C, but there’s no wireless charging, which might be a letdown for some. Not a dealbreaker, but it would’ve been nice to have.

Redmi Buds 6 Pro review: How to use
Using the Redmi Buds 6 Pro is pretty straightforward. No different than using any other buds.
The first time you open the case, they’ll enter pairing mode automatically. If you have a Xiaomi phone, you’ll get a pop-up for easy connection. Otherwise, head to your Bluetooth settings, find “Redmi Buds 6 Pro,” and connect manually. Once paired, they should automatically reconnect whenever you open the case.
You can also pair them with two devices at once, thanks to multipoint connectivity. This can be switched off via the settings.
I found Bluetooth connectivity to be excellent. The buds effortlessly establish a connection and manage to maintain it without issues.
The touch controls are there to help you manage playback and calls. By default, a single tap plays or pauses music, while a double tap skips tracks. A long press lets you toggle between ANC and transparency mode. A swipe up or down on either earbud controls the volume.
As mentioned, these gestures can be customized in the Xiaomi Earbuds app, where you can also adjust ANC levels, check battery life, and update firmware. I like how everything can be tweaked, as shown in the screenshots below.
Redmi Buds 6 Pro review: Sound quality and noise protection
The Redmi Buds 6 Pro sound pretty great for the price, thanks to their coaxial triple-driver system. With an 11mm dynamic driver and dual 6.7mm ceramic tweeters, they deliver a well-balanced sound with crisp highs, clear mids, and bass that’s there but not too overpowering.
Vocals stand out nicely, so they’re great for pop, acoustic, and classical music. The soundstage feels fairly spacious too. That said, if you’re after deep, thumping bass, these will probably not hit the mark. You can boost the low-end in the settings, but honestly, the difference between the audio balance modes is pretty minimal.
One of the more noteworthy things about these is the support for Hi-Res Audio with LDAC, which means you’ll get higher-quality sound if you pair them with a compatible device. If you’ve got a Xiaomi phone that supports LDAC, you’ll notice richer details and a wider soundstage. Even if you’re using SBC or AAC, they still sound good, but you won’t get the same level of depth.
The spatial audio is another nice touch, making music and videos feel more immersive. It works well with supported content, adding an extra layer of depth to your listening experience.
The ANC on these is actually pretty solid, cutting out up to 55dB of low-frequency background noise. They do a great job at blocking out things like traffic and airplane noise, and you can adjust the levels depending on where you are. For in-ear buds, the noise cancellation is impressive.
Call quality is also surprisingly good. The three mics and AI noise reduction help block out background noise, so your voice comes through loud and clear. Even wind noise is handled better than most earbuds in this price range. Plus, you can switch between ANC and Transparency mode while on a call, which is super handy.
