Oppo Watch X2 Mini teaser shows off gold case & new crown

Oppo has dropped a first teaser for its upcoming Watch X2 Mini, revealing a gold-colored body and a noticeably chamfered crown. The wearable is expected to arrive in April, and it’s shaping up to be a smaller, more refined take on the larger Watch X2.

There was already talk about this device. But the teaser can be taken as official confirmation. The image also gives us a glimpse as what to expect.

A stylish watch

That gold finish gives the upcoming device a more polished look compared to what we’ve seen from the brand’s recent wearables. It’s not flashy, but it stands out. This aligns with the gold theme of the watch and suggests Oppo is emphasizing its elegance and refined design.

The Chinese text in the image actually translates to “Shining Light Chaser” (or “Radiant Pursuer of Light”) and the text below to “Bright Heart, Shining Gold”.

What catches the eye even more is the newly designed crown. Instead of the typical rounded button or a flush side control, Oppo is going with a chamfered style that adds a bit of definition to the watch’s silhouette. It doesn’t just look different—it may actually feel different when used.

We now also have a size reference. According to leaks and early retail listings, the Watch X2 Mini will come with a 42mm dial. That’s a reasonable step down from the full-size Watch X2, making it more appealing to those who prefer a less bulky smartwatch. For comparison, the standard Watch X2 clocks in at 46mm, so the Mini definitely earns its name. This new version appears to be something designed for women.

The rest of the specs are still under wraps. Oppo hasn’t officially shared anything on the internals, sensors, or display resolution. But if it follows the same blueprint as the regular Watch X2, we can expect Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 under the hood, dual-band GPS, and the usual round AMOLED display. That’s speculation for now, but it wouldn’t be surprising if Oppo reuses core hardware across both sizes, with only minor changes to battery capacity and casing materials.

The April launch window is locked in for China. No word yet on international availability, though. If the Watch X2 Mini mirrors the timeline of the larger model, it could show up globally under a different name sometime in May or June.
