New API features & 2025 roadmap coming at Zepp OS Developers Conference April 15

The Zepp OS team is inviting developers to a virtual event on April 15, with a preview of new APIs and a roadmap for the rest of this year.

A closer look at the agenda

The event kicks off at 18:00 GMT and runs for about an hour and a half. You can join via the Zoom link, which should make it accessible to anyone with a decent internet connection. While it’s open to all, those already active in the Zepp OS developer Discord will probably get the most out of it, since the announcements tie directly into community tools and workflows.

The main highlight is the launch of a new set of API capabilities. Details are scarce, but Zepp Health is clearly positioning this as a key part of the conference. Expect increased functionality and better integration options. And perhaps some discussion around sensor access, performance optimisations and deeper interaction with the watch UI.

There will also be a sneak-peak at the roadmap for the rest of 2025. This will be particularly interesting as the company has spoken a little about this at their Q4 financial results reveal. Apparently, they are aiming to launch one major smartwatch per quarter – focusing in parallel on software developement and AI integration.

We already saw the Active 2 and Bip 6 so far this year. Which leaves two other devices in 2025. It will be interesting to see if Zepp Health provides a clue at the Developers Conference as to what these might be. Such info may help third-party developers understand what features to build for and what directions to align with.

Recognition and rewards

Another segment of the event is focused on recognising standout developers and apps. The so-called Ecosystem Winners will be announced, celebrating those who’ve contributed either technically or through community engagement.

There’s also a live Q&A scheduled with the core team behind Zepp OS. To add a bit of fun, there’s also a lucky draw at the end. Three prizes will be handed out, including what’s being called the grand prize – an Amazfit Active 2 smartwatch. It’s clear that Zepp wants to keep its developer community close—and that it’s willing to offer a few perks along the way.
