Close your rings for the April 24 Apple Watch challenge
Apple Watch owners can earn a special digital award and some fun extras just by completing their daily activity goals on April 24th. This ‘Global Close Your Rings Day’ event offers a limited-edition prize for users who manage to close all three of their Activity rings.
For a decade now, those colourful rings on the Apple Watch face have been a familiar sight. They’ve been gently encouraging users to move more, exercise, and stand up regularly throughout the day. The rings are designed as a straightforward, visual way to keep tabs on your daily activity and promote a healthier lifestyle, tracking everything from brisk walks to intense workouts, alongside monitoring things like sleep and heart health.
Get Active on April 24th
To celebrate this focus on activity, Apple is nudging users worldwide to make a special effort on April 24th. They’ve named this as the Global Close Your Rings Day. The challenge couldn’t be more simple: close all three Activity rings – Move, Exercise, and Stand – by the end of that day.
It is totally up to you how you achieve this. It could be, for example, by doing a favourite workout. Or trying something new, or just making sure you get those steps and stand-ups in. The goal is simply to be active. Users are also encouraged to share what they did using #CloseYourRings.

Anyone who successfully closes all three rings on the day will get a limited-edition digital award. This will be waiting for them in the Fitness app. It’s not just the virtual medal, though. You’ll also get a pack of 10 animated stickers and a special animated badge that you can use in Messages to share your achievement.
Here are a few of them.

And hey, if you like having something actual you can hold, Apple Stores all over the place will have a special collector’s pin that looks like the digital award. They’ll start handing them out on April 24th. But it’s only while stocks last, so if you really fancy one, maybe pop into your local store when you get a chance.
