Feature-packed update hits newer Amazfit Balance and T-Rex watches
Zepp Health is dropping a massive software update for a bunch of Amazfit watches, giving the Balance 2, Balance 3, Balance Ultra, T-Rex 3, and T-Rex 3 Pro some serious new training tools.
Instead of just fixing boring background bugs, the June update goes all in on HYROX support, outdoor navigation, and smarter recovery guidance. Here are the details. We also include the full change-log at the end.
Balance 2 gets a lot of updates
The Balance 2 gets the most interesting set of changes, adding Equivalent Pace, offline route planning, Activity Data Fusion and Sync Back, OmniRecorder, and HYROX Race x Stryd support. That is a pretty chunky upgrade.
Equivalent Pace is aimed at runners who train on uneven ground. Instead of simply showing pace as speed over distance, the watch estimates what your effort would look like on flat terrain by using gradient changes, fitness level, and personal physiological data.
Offline route planning is the bigger everyday outdoor feature. Balance 2 can now create loop routes directly in the Map app, even without a network connection. If you go off course, the watch can recalculate the route during navigation.
OmniRecorder is the stranger addition. It lets you stream audio from a phone to the watch via Bluetooth, record it locally on the watch, and play it back later from your wrist. The file stays on the watch and cannot be exported or copied elsewhere, so this is more of a personal offline playback tool than a general recording system.
HYROX Race x Stryd support also lands on Balance 2. If you use a Stryd footpod, you can view real-time pace metrics during HYROX training or racing.
Balance 3 and Ultra get the navigation polish
The Balance 3 and Balance Ultra do not get the exact same feature list as the Balance 2, but they still receive some useful upgrades. Route preview comes to both before you start route navigation.
HYROX Training and Simulation also gets a cleaner link between the Zepp Health app and the watch. The idea is to make it easier to set up workouts in the app and then execute them on your wrist, with better control over stations and laps.
Maps get some attention too. Balance 3 and Balance Ultra now show map scale indicators during workouts, with metric and imperial levels ranging from close-up views to wider route context. Zepp Health also claims map layers, loading behavior, and crown zoom controls have been improved. The update promises better GPS track and real-time pace accuracy under tree cover, which is definitely something to test rather than take at face value.
T-Rex 3 gets the HYROX treatment too
The T-Rex 3 and T-Rex 3 Pro are part of this wider software push too. The big shared change is the move from BioCharge to HybridCharge. Again, this means users will be able to see the metric on the watch now – in addition to the smartphone app.
HYROX Simulation Training comes to both T-Rex models, supporting Full HYROX, Half HYROX, First Half, Second Half, and Custom simulation modes. That gives T-Rex owners the same general HYROX direction we see across the Balance line and Cheetah 2 Ultra updates.
HYROX Race Strategy is another addition. You can create a personalized race strategy in the Zepp Health app and send it to the watch, then select it from the HYROX Race mode before starting.
The T-Rex 3 Pro gets one extra feature over the standard T-Rex 3. Golf has been added, with access to more than 40,000 course maps. Courses can be downloaded through the Zepp Health app and opened from the Golf app on the watch. That helps separate the Pro model a little more clearly.
The wider pattern is clear. Zepp Health is not just updating one watch family at a time. It is pushing the same training language across Balance, T-Rex and Cheetah models, with HYROX sitting right in the middle of that strategy.
Full change-log
For reference, the full change-logs are included below. The article above pulls out the practical changes, but the official notes are useful for checking model-specific differences.

[New]
Added Equivalent Pace data: combines personal physiological data, fitness level and gradient changes to convert uphill and downhill effort into an equivalent flat-ground pace for better energy management.
Added Offline Route Planning: create loop routes and routes from the current location to a destination within the Topographic Map app while offline. If you go off course during navigation, the route can be automatically recalculated based on your current location.
Added GPS Heading in Topographic Maps: supports GPS heading display in the Topographic Map app for a navigation experience consistent with workout navigation.
Added Activity Data Fusion & Sync Back: data from multiple devices is fused through Zepp and synchronized back to all devices for improved consistency and synchronization.
Added Bluetooth Speaker: The watch can connect to your phone and play phone audio.
Added HYROX Race x Stryd Integration: supports connecting your watch to Stryd and displaying pace-related workout metrics in real time.
[Optimized]
Optimized topographic map display and on-watch route creation. Supports navigation to points up to 100 km away and dynamic contour-line precision adaptation. Update via the Zepp App is recommended.
Optimized watch face status indicators, allowing users to customize their visibility.
Optimized diving experience with depth calculation, descent/ascent detection and suppression of system notifications during workouts.
Optimized map downloads with support for combined downloads of multi-level cloud maps and map version display.
Optimized Hybrid Charge display, allowing status changes to be viewed during workouts.
Optimized screen wake behavior by adjusting screen-on duration for different usage scenarios.
Optimized weather information in workout records by limiting the display range of weather data.
