New Amazfit Helio Strap update refines BioCharge accuracy
Less than two weeks after the first firmware update for the Amazfit Helio Strap, a second one is already rolling out. Version 3.1.2.3 is a 2.24MB package that tweaks automatic activity recognition, refines BioCharge accuracy and more.
Another batch of optimisations
This update focuses mainly on feature improvements. Zepp Health has tweaked automatic activity recognition to make it less prone to misclassifying what you’re doing. The update also adjusts how the BioCharge metric is calculated when the device hasn’t been worn for a while, which should help with accuracy after long periods of inactivity.
One practical change for day-to-day use is added support for viewing real-time heart rate changes in the Zepp app. That will only work if you’re using the latest version of the app, so keep that in mind if you haven’t updated yet.
There’s no mention of a fix for the ongoing sleep tracking issues some users have reported. That doesn’t necessarily mean the update won’t help, but it’s not something Zepp Health has officially acknowledged in this release. Still, with two firmware updates landing in quick succession, it’s clear they’re actively tuning the strap’s performance.
Premium version still missing
While updates continue to arrive, the long-awaited premium version of the Helio Strap remains absent. Zepp Health has yet to confirm a launch date, but a more advanced variant should land soon. Interestingly, third-party options have already started popping up online.
Meanwhile, another device we are expecting is the Amazfit Balance 2 XT. That one was listed on Best Buy and it appears to be a less expensive, toned down version of Balance 2.
