Amazfit T-Rex 3 update improves navigation and Stryd compatibility

Two key features headline the new Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro firmware update: Stryd sensor support for HYROX workouts and offline screenshot capture. Version 4.2.4.3 weighs in at 13.89MB and brings a series of navigation, mapping and usability tweaks to round things off.

Map and workout navigation tweaks

This update is not a huge one. To remind, the T-Rex 3 Pro has received a few refreshes over the past month, the latest just two weeks ago.

This time around the firmware brings smoother performance during route-based workouts. Map app responsiveness has been improved, making on-screen rotations less jumpy when adjusting direction mid-activity. This should be noticeable in the workout track page, as well.

Zepp Health has also changed the default map orientation during workouts to “Advance up.” That means the route now auto-aligns with your direction of travel. While some users might have preferred a north-up view, this change brings the T-Rex 3 Pro in line with other fitness-focused GPS watches. It should make quick glances mid-run or hike a bit more intuitive.

Turn reminders during navigation have seen a backend improvement as well. The update refines both the distance accuracy and sensitivity for those prompts, which could help avoid missed turns on complex routes.

For users in the US and other imperial unit regions, distances to upcoming turns are now shown in feet when under 0.1 miles. Once the distance crosses that threshold, it switches to miles. This brings it more in line with how distance cues are presented in mainstream car and hiking GPS systems.

HYROX Race now supports Stryd sensors

The watch already had Stryd support. But now this is being upgraded to function with HYROX Race workout mode. Pace data from the footpod can now be displayed live during workouts and will also show up in your workout history. This brings more granular pacing insight to hybrid athletes and runners using power-based training.

On the usability front, ending or pausing a workout now requires a long press rather than a single tap. This should cut down on accidental interruptions during sweaty sessions.

Screenshots can be taken without phone connection

Android users now have the ability to take screenshots on the T-Rex 3 Pro even when the watch isn’t connected to a smartphone. Up to 20 images can be saved locally and then transferred once reconnected. This is handy for preserving mid-workout data snapshots or routing info without needing your phone nearby.

As expected, the update also includes broader system stability fixes, though Zepp Health doesn’t list specifics. These updates are typically aimed at background processes and general bug fixes.
