Xiaomi Mi Fitness is getting an AI Health Assistant

Xiaomi seems to be cooking up something pretty big for Mi Fitness. The latest app code points to a new AI Health Assistant that can pull together your health data, build daily plans, help with sleep and even suggest workouts.

A new AI layer inside Mi Fitness

The interesting stuff is tucked away inside Mi Fitness 3.59.1i, released yesterday. Xiaomi has added a new health module, and buried in there are references to an “AI health summary analysis”, an “AI sleep improvement plan” and an “AI fitness assistant”.

There is also a new “Daily Health Plan”, which looks like the main hub for all of this. It includes sections for analysing your current status and then suggesting what you could do next, so this is clearly meant to be more than another score sitting on the home screen.

And Xiaomi is not limiting it to workouts. The app mentions sleep, exercise, nutrition, lifestyle, psychology and symptoms, which gives you an idea of how broad the feature could become.

There is a task and check-in side to it as well. From the way the code is set up, it looks like you will be able to follow a plan over several days, tick things off and get updated feedback as you go.

The separate AI Health Summary feature seems to be the more passive side of the system. It can show whether things are getting “better” or “worse”, provide analysis and ask you to keep wearing your device if there is not enough data yet.

That is probably the bigger idea here. Xiaomi already collects plenty of information through its watches and bands, including heart rate, blood oxygen, stress, sleep and, on newer models, HRV. The AI layer looks like an attempt to connect more of that data instead of leaving it spread across different screens.

Xiaomi already had smart recommendations

Mi Fitness already provides workout recommendations, while the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 introduced a 21-day sleep improvement plan based on sleep behaviour. Xiaomi has also started adding more advanced sleep interpretation to newer wearables.

The difference here is the scope. The Health Assistant is all-encompassing.

Granted, the new functionality does not appear ready for a full rollout yet. Several parts of the AI system are labelled as beta inside Mi Fitness 3.59.1i. Xiaomi can also enable features by account, region and connected device, so installing the latest APK does not necessarily mean the AI Health Assistant will immediately appear.

Device compatibility is another open question. Xiaomi could make the assistant available to most Mi Fitness users, or reserve some analysis for newer watches and bands that collect additional measurements such as HRV.

Either way, this is a larger change than adding another health card to the app. Xiaomi appears to be moving Mi Fitness towards interpreting wearable data and suggesting what users should do next, rather than simply recording it.

⚠️ APK teardown note
This article is based on an APK teardown. Code found inside an app can reveal features or devices that are under development, but there is no guarantee they will appear in a future public release.
