Fossil expands portfolio with Diesel, Armani and Kate Spade hybrid smartwatches

Fossil Group officially unveiled today plans for three more brands to join its smartwatch lineup. The Diesel, Kate Spade and the Emporio Armani hybrid watches are all scheduled to go on sale by the end of this year or early 2017.

Back in January, Fossil announced it would introduce 100 wearables in 2016. The latest effort puts the company well over this target.

The smart timepieces look and feel like regular analog watches, but under the hood they house technology which allows them to count steps, distance and calories, monitor sleep patterns and push notifications to your wrist. For more detailed data and to set personal goals, you need to head over to the accompanying Android or iOS smartphone app.

Each of the new brands provides slightly different functionality, but the common thread is simplicity. And, you can forget about recharging. They all operate on replaceable a coin cell battery that lasts up to six months.

There are a number of designs to choose from including three Kate Spade models (gold, rose gold and silver) and five Emporio Armani Connected watch models. The DieselOn Time watch comes in a single design, but it will be sold with with a number of different color options for its strap.

The Kate Spade watch will cost around $250 when it goes on sale in the coming weeks. Pricing for the DieselOn Time and Emporio Armani smartwatch has yet to be announced.
