Casio launches ultra-rugged WSD-F20 smartwatch
Casio has announced global availability of its new and improved PRO TREK smartwatch. Dubbed the “WSD-F20”, the upgraded version of Casio’s F10 device made its debut at CES 2017 earlier this year.
Sporting a slightly slimmer design, the watch adds a couple of essential features for outdoor enthusiasts such GPS and support for offline maps. The device also runs Android Wear 2.0, Google’s new operating system.

The F20 is a watch specifically designed for outdoorsy folks. It is water resistant up to 50 meters and features a pressure sensor, compass, built-in microphone and times for sunrise and sunset.
The watch’s environmental-resistance performance meets the standards prescribed by the MIL-STD-810G durability test established by the US Department of Defense. This means it will be fine if you drop it, and it should have no problem surviving the toughest of outdoor conditions. But, what makes the watch really special is its ability to offer mapping and guidance, making it ideal for those venturing where cellular service is unavailable.
Just like the RunIQ, the WSD-F20 falls a bit short in the battery department. Casio says it will last only about a day. As a regular watch it will keep going for a month.
The ultra-rugged smartwatch retails for around $500. You can pick it up on Amazon or Casio in Black and Orange color options.
