TouchPoints basic: Aleviate stress in just 30 seconds

Everyone feels stressed from time to time. This is your body’s way of your body’s way of responding to any kind of demand. However, long-term stress can take its toll on your health.

Many people choose to do nothing to keep stress at bay, with a select few reverting to yoga or meditation. But there may be an easier way thanks to a growing number of wearables and gadgets that help keep you calm.

TouchPoint basics is the new kid on the block. This is a non-invasive, neuroscience wearable whose claim to fame is that it can apparently reduce stress by up to around 70% in as little as 30 seconds. This is actually a second generation device, a simpler and more affordable version of the 2016 edition.

The system consists of two devices that are worn on your wrists, held, or clipped to clothing. TouchPoints basic uses Bi-Lateral Alternating Stimulation Tactile (BLAST) technology. These are essentially a series of gentle vibrations that cause a reduction in high-frequency waves that are associated with anxiety and stress. This means the wearable alters your body’s Fight, Flight or Freeze response allowing it to return to its homeostatic nervous system and experience calm.

You are meant to use TouchPoint basics before, during or after any stressful event. It also has other uses thanks to three speeds at which it can emit vibrations. For example you can use it to increase focus or as a quick performance enhancer. Or use it 15 minutes before going to bed to sleep better.

The company has turned to Indiegogo to raise funds for development and production. No stress for the founders, as just a few days in they are well above the $15,000 goal. Delivery is set for August.
