High-tech giant Xiaomi officially brings its wares to the UK
Today’s London event marks the official launch of Xiaomi in the UK tech market. This follows the company’s recent entry in Spain, Italy and France.

The Mi Band 3 will be available from November 9th across a range of retail outlets, including Amazon (check price). If you’re quick you might be able to snag one of the first 10,000 units which will be sold at a discounted £19.99 (RRP £26.99). You’ll be able to pick them up at the newly launched Mi Store UK between November 12th and 23rd. The limited edition units will feature a tiny Union Jack on the strap.
While not as comprehensive as some of the other options out there, this is a fitness band that delivers a lot for the price. In our review, we note that the range of features on offer make this a great wearable for those on a budget.
Of course, its not quite on-par with some of the more expensive options out there, but its close. The latest band combines the best features of the predecessor devices and throws a better screen, water-resistance and all day heart-rate monitoring into the mix. There’s also a special edition with NFC for contactless payments.
And while the app would benefit from a design overhaul and the OLED screen is a bit temperamental, the stats it dishes out are fairly accurate. It also does a surprisingly decent job at tracking runs.

If you’re looking for a basic fitness tracker and don’t want to spend lots of money, Mi Band 3 does the trick. Its no wonder Xiaomi shifted some 5 million units in the three months following its launch.
