June will be a busy month for if you like to collect Garmin Badges
Those that like to collect Garmin badges are in for a treat. At least six new ones will be available for collection next month on Garmin Connect.

The badges do not appear in the smartphone app just yet, but they are visible on the website dashboard. There are six in total and they include walk, run and bike activities.
These badges will be awarding points (1, 2 and 4 for 100 miles). It’s good to know that running and steps can be combined to earn multiple badges. So if you do most of your running in the second half of June it will be easier to collect the walking badges.
New badges for climbing activities
The company has also recently added a bunch of badges for climbing activities (via Garmin Badges). These include the following:
If you were hoping to earn all the climbing badges with a single activity, think again. Each one can only be earned with a separate activity. So if you do a 1,500 climb, you’ll just get the highest badge, not the smaller ones.
Finally, Global Running Day 2020 is on the 3rd, so make sure you get that one too. The badge isn’t displayed just yet, but it’s coming.

Do I need to do anything to “join the challenge”? I can see the badges as available on my app, however I did a 3+ mile walk yesterday on the 5th June and it hasn’t bee awarded? (The watch has synced)
There is a new section now in Garmin Connect where you can join challenges: https://gadgetsandwearables.com/2020/05/30/garmin-connect-challenges/
Further to my last reply, you have to join these challenges. They are not visible on my Garmin app in the challenges section, but can be found on the desktop version.
