Xiaomi launches Mi Watch Revolve Active with SpO2 & Amazon Alexa

Xiaomi has released Mi Watch Revolve Active yesterday. The device comes with the addition of an oxygen sensor and Alexa support, but less premium materials make it 15% cheaper than the original.

To remind, Mi Watch Revolve is essentially a rebranded version of Mi Watch Color that is meant for India and a few other countries. There are no significant differences between the two timepieces apart from the name.

To make things even more confusing, Mi Watch Revolve Active seems to be a rebranded version of Mi Watch Color Sports Edition. That one was released last October in China.

Mi Watch Revolve Active – technical specs

The Mi Watch Revolve Active is already available on mi.com India website for 8,249 Rupee. This is currently down from 8,249 Rupee (or around $135 US dollars). The timepiece can also be picked up on Amazon India (check price).

The device comes with the same circular body as the original. This is a sportier variant that has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for display protection, a plastic frame and plastic back (instead of a steel one). The screen can be customized with a selection of 110 colorful watch-faces and bands are swappable. The whole thing weighs just 32 grams.

There are two physical buttons on the right-hand side of the AMOLED display. One is a Home button, the other can be used to quickly launch workouts.

Under the hood is a GPS/Glonass/Galileo/BDS sensor, an accelerometer, SpO2, stress management and heart rate monitor. The tech allows for activity and sleep tracking, along with blood oxygen saturation, Vo2Max and body energy tracking.

Xiaomi says there are “Maximum sports modes ever”. Mi Watch Color Sports Edition has a total of 117 and this one is no different. Swimming is also be on this list as the watch is water-resistant.

Smart functionality includes the usual call and app notification, alarms, music control and more. As this is an international version, the thing comes with Amazon Alexa support built-in.

As mentioned, we can’t really see that much different between this watch and Mi Watch Color Sports Edition. That one has Xiao Ai smart voice assistant instead of Amazon Alexa. Plus it has a multi-function NFC chip.

The watch has a 420 mAh battery on-board. This should be good for about two weeks on a single charge.

Another Xiaomi wearable that is expected to drop soon is Mi Watch 2. The first hints of the timepiece can be found in the Developer version of MIUI. This shows the upcoming timepiece will come with QI wireless charging ability.
