Zepp OS 3.5 for Amazfit GTS 4? A glimmer of hope

There is speculation about the potential arrival of Zepp OS 3.5 on the popular Amazfit GTS 4 model. This excitement stems from a recent interaction on the official Zepp OS Twitter account, where a user inquiry about the possibility of the update was met with an intriguing response.

When asked about Zepp OS 3.5 coming to the Amazfit GTS 4, the official account replied, “What I can say is: Please stay tuned :)”

This cryptic yet promising response has sparked hope among owners of these devices, suggesting that an update might be in the works. To remind, that device is currently on version 2.1 of the operating system. So it hasn’t really received any significant updates since its launch.

Currently, Zepp OS 3.5 has been rolled out to several Amazfit models, including the Balance, Active, Cheetah Pro, Cheetah Round, T-Rex Ultra, and Falcon. These devices have benefited from the latest features and improvements that the updated operating system brings. The potential inclusion of the GTS 4 in this lineup would be a significant development for users of these popular smartwatches.

It’s worth noting that in the same Twitter thread, it was confirmed that the Amazfit Bip 5 would not receive the Zepp OS 3.5 update due to hardware limitations. This clarification makes the ambiguous response regarding the GTS 4 even more intriguing, as it suggests that this model has not been ruled out for the update.

Our takeaway

To remind, its sibling, the GTR 4 has been bumped up to ZeppOS 3 at the start of 2024. Presumably, that one might also be in line to get the 3.5 version of the operating system. But again, there has been no official word yet.

The Amazfit GTS 4 and GTR 4 were launched in September 2022, making them relatively recent additions to the Amazfit lineup. The GTS 4 features a sleek, rectangular 1.75-inch AMOLED display, while the GTR 4 sports a classic round 1.43-inch AMOLED screen. Both models were praised for their comprehensive fitness tracking features, long battery life, and improved GPS accuracy. You can check out my hands on review of the GTR 4 on this link.

The possibility of these watches receiving Zepp OS 3.5 is particularly exciting for users who have invested in these devices. However, it’s important to approach this news with cautious optimism. While the response from the Zepp OS Twitter account is encouraging, it doesn’t constitute an official confirmation.
