Motorola prepares to launch new flagship smartwatch: The Moto Watch 120
Motorola is set to expand its smartwatch lineup with the introduction of the Moto Watch 120, a device that promises to be their new top-of-the-line offering. While an official launch date and pricing details are yet to be announced, the watch has already made an appearance on Motorola’s website, giving us a glimpse of what to expect.
The Moto Watch 120 appears to be an evolution of the Moto Watch 100, which was launched back in 2021. That one was ripe for an update. The device will join Motorola’s current smartwatch family, which includes the Moto Watch 70 and Moto Watch 40, positioning itself as the premium option in the range. Interestingly, the company does not make any more mention of its Watch 200 – so that one may have been discontinued.
Design
The Moto Watch 120 features a circular 1.43-inch circular AMOLED display, housed in an all-metal body made of zinc alloy. This design choice should give the watch a premium look and feel. Its dimensions come in at 50.6 x 44.6 x 11mm and weight at 55 grams. The watch will be available in three color options: Phantom Black, Rose Gold, and Glacier Silver, catering to different style preferences.

In terms of durability, the Moto Watch 120 boasts an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. This makes it suitable for use during various activities and weather conditions.
Looking at the smartwatch, it reminds a bit of the Garmin Forerunner range.
Features
Motorola has packed the Moto Watch 120 with a comprehensive set of features. It offers extensive yet familiar health and fitness tracking capabilities, including heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen (SpO2) measurement, stress tracking, activity monitoring, and sleep analysis. The watch also includes a breathing exercise feature to help users manage stress. So it’s all pretty standard stuff.
Beyond that, the device supports over 100 sports modes and features automatic sports detection. It also includes Connected GPS for more accurate sports tracking. So no built-in GPS. Moto Watch 120 is compatible with Google Fit, allowing users to sync their fitness data with the popular platform.
The smartwatch doesn’t skimp on smart features either. It supports smart notifications, allowing users to stay connected without constantly checking their phones. One standout feature is the ability to make and receive calls directly from the watch, thanks to its built-in microphone. The device also provides access to virtual assistants, including both Google Assistant and Gemini, enhancing its utility as a smart device.
Customization options are plentiful, with over 80 watch faces available for users to personalize their device.
One of the most impressive features of the Moto Watch 120 is its battery life. Motorola claims the watch can last up to 10 days on a single charge, powered by a 300 mAh battery with quick charging capabilities.
Outlook
While we await official information on pricing and availability, the Moto Watch 120 appears to be a solid entry in the smartwatch market. Nothing groundbreaking there, but a decent set of features. The Moto Watch 100 retailed for around the $100 and we fully expect the new variant to sell at around this price point.
