Garmin regional website leaks Fenix 8 pricing & availability

The countdown to the latest Fenix series begins as fresh details emerge from a Ukranian Garmin watch seller website. Mark your calendars for early September folks, the new Fenix 8 and E lines are set to hit shelves between the 4th and 6th of the month.

The listing confirms that the Fenix 8 will be available in 43mm, 47mm, and 51mm variants. We previously received info on the larger sizes, but it is clear the company will also be launching a smaller iteration.

Pricing for these high-end multisport watches reflects their premium status. Both the 43mm and 47mm models carry a price tag of $1,100, while those opting for the 51mm behemoth will need to shell out $1,200. So that’s about $100 more than the Epix Gen 2 range. These figures, converted from Ukrainian currency, give a solid indication of what global markets can expect.

Garmin isn’t stopping there. Enter the Fenix 8 E – a new addition to the family that might stand for “Economy.” Priced at a “more accessible” $900, it comes in grey/black and steel/black colour-ways.

Of course, these are European prices. Which are typically a bit higher than US ones. So if you live in the US, you can probably knock off $100 from these prices. Also, these are prices for the AMOLED model. If there is a MIP model, it will be cheaper.

There have been rumours that the official launch date of the Fenix 8 might be next Tuesday, 27 of August. While that still might be the case, according to the Garmin Ukrainian website, actual availability starts between the 4th and 6th of September. This also jives with a previous leak mentioning these dates. Typically Garmin announces products, and availability starts a couple of weeks later. So this timing would fit into the 27th of August official unveil schedule.

Interestingly, the Ukrainian website makes no mention of the Enduro 3. This could mean, that one might not launch at the same time as the Fenix 8 range. A separate source has confirmed to us the Enduro 3 has, indeed, been delayed.

Upgrades to expect

It’s worth mentioning, this is only the latest in a series of leaks. At the heart of the improvements on the Fenix 8 series is the shift to AMOLED displays, promising vibrant visuals and enhanced readability. However, there is the chance there could still be an option of a variant with an MIP screen. We certainly hope so. However, the Ukrainian website makes no mention of this.

Fitness tracking gets a boost with the integration of the Elevate 5 heart rate sensor, promising even more accurate health metrics. Water resistance is WR-100 M, plus the watch allows basic diving metrics to be captured at depths of up to 40 meters.

In a nod to smartwatch functionality, Garmin has added a built-in microphone and speaker to the Fenix 8. This addition opens up new possibilities for on-the-go communication, mirroring features found in the Venu 3.

Design-wise, the Fenix 8 sports a refreshed look with updated bezels. Eagle-eyed observers might notice a slightly larger screen, achieved by trimming down the bezel size. It’s a subtle change that could make a difference in day-to-day use.

The Fenix 8 E warrants special attention. While it seems to share the AMOLED display of its pricier siblings, it appears to be a rebranding of the Fenix 7 or Epix Gen 2. It retains the Elevate 4 heart rate sensor and a thicker bezel, positioning it as a bridge between Garmin’s previous and current generations.
