New evidence points to upcoming Polar Vantage M3 release
A new development has brought the upcoming Polar Vantage M3 smartwatch closer to reality. The device has been registered with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), providing the strongest indication yet of its impending release.
The FCC filing doesn’t reveal much in terms of public documents. All the info is under lock and key for now. However, the list of accompanying files includes one particularly telling entry: “13-Vantage M3 full user manual EN 011024_red”. This explicit reference to the Vantage M3 leaves little doubt about Polar’s plans for this new device.

For those not in the know, the FCC filing is a necessary step in the process of bringing wireless electronic devices to market in the United States. It ensures that the device complies with federal regulations regarding radio frequency emissions and electromagnetic interference. Companies need this before they can sell a smartwatch in the country.

Not the only evidence
This FCC registration follows closely on the heels of another recent discovery. Just days ago, code referencing the Vantage M3 was spotted within Polar’s smartphone app, further corroborating the device’s development.
The Polar Vantage M series has built a reputation for offering a balance of affordability and functionality. Its predecessor, the Vantage M2, was released in early 2021, bringing enhancements such as music controls, weather forecasting, and advanced training guidance tools like FuelWise and Training Load Pro. These features built upon the foundation laid by the original Vantage M from 2018, which offered essentials like heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking in a lightweight package.
As the potential release of the Vantage M3 approaches, questions arise about how Polar will differentiate it from other recent offerings like the Pacer and Pacer Pro. These models already incorporate many of the features found in the M2, and in some cases, surpass them. Polar will need to introduce novel capabilities to set the M3 apart in their product lineup.
