Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro to launch on October 29th

Xiaomi is putting the finishing touches on its preparations for the release of the Smart Band 9 Pro. The first images of the upcoming wearable have been leaked online. This shows a device very much along the lines of 8 Pro, but with some slight design tweaks. Expect on official reveal on October 29th.

The company has confirmed this data as the one to mark in your calendars. Along with the company’s latest fitness band, we will also see the unveiling of the Xiaomi Pad 7 series. No word yet on whether we will also see the Smart Band 9 Active on that date. To remind, pictures of this iteration have also been leaked online recent.

Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro – what to expect

There is no word yet on what specs to expect from Smart Band 9 Pro. But there are a few images that have been posted from unofficial channels.

The pics reveal a display which looks to be marginally larger than its predecessor, with slimmer bezels contributing to a more modern aesthetic. The screen also appears to be more curved than last year’s version. Hard to say, though, as concrete technical specifications remain elusive at this time.

The device’s frame on the pics sports a matte surface texture, departing from the glossy metal finish of the previous model. This change may provide better grip and a more premium feel.

The Smart Band 9 Pro also appears to feature an improved TPU strap design, drawing comparisons to the popular Apple Watch. Expect at least three different colour iterations of Smart Band 9 Pro: Silver, Black, and Gold.

While the visual updates are interesting, the Smart Band 9 Pro is expected to maintain a key functional difference from the standard Band 9 model: built-in GPS. That’s probably a given.
