RingConn Smart Ring app gets AI features & personalised health plans

RingConn has released a comprehensive update to its smartphone app. The new software, previously available in beta, is now accessible to all users and aims to address one of the platform’s previous limitations – transforming raw data into actionable insights.

The most immediately noticeable change, however, is the refreshed user interface. While maintaining familiar navigation patterns, the app now features snazzier graphics, improved font legibility, and a more polished visual presentation throughout.

But it’s not just about visual upgrades. AI based features take centre-stage in this software refresh. Such guidance will, no doubt, be all the rage in the coming years and it’s good to see RingConn heading in this direction.

Personalized guidance and more

The updated app introduces a five-tab structure that combines detailed metrics with personalized guidance.

The new Insights tab serves as a central hub for users’ health data, offering quick access to detailed information with a single tap. The Plan section leverages artificial intelligence to create customized health recommendations based on historical data. This has been done really nicely. You do need to answer a few questions for this to be set up, though.

A notable addition is the dedicated AI tab, which includes a chatbot feature allowing users to query their health data. While this feature shows promise, it appears to be in early stages with a limited set of predetermined questions. The way that it is designed reminds a lot of Whoop which also has a chatbot feature in its smartpone app.

The Trends section maintains RingConn’s strength in detailed statistical analysis. In this section you can find comprehensive health metrics for users who prefer sifting through in-depth data.

The update also improves device management, with more prominent display of the charging case battery percentage. This is a practical enhancement for daily use.

RingConn new app
Old app

RingConn has recently released the Gen 2 smart ring. This is considered one of the best smart ring options out there. Generally there are no complaints about the hardware or accuracy of the metrics it churns out. But the old app was stats heavy offering little in terms of insights – leaving you on your own to draw conclusions from the data.

This update aims to address that. And it does a fairly good job. One could say – a step in the right direction. No doubt further improvements are in the pipeline.
