HarmonyOS 5.0 lands for Huawei Watch Ultimate

Huawei Watch Ultimate users have started receiving HarmonyOS 5.0, which introduces offline maps, a golf app, and screenshot functionality. The update is currently available in select European countries and China

Visually, the new software brings a refreshed interface with more intuitive graphics and updated app icons. The rehashed design aims to create a more engaging and user-friendly interaction model, featuring smoother screen transitions and a more cohesive visual experience.

Some new features are there, too. Offline map functionality now allows users to download and manage maps directly on their device, enabling real-time positioning and navigation during outdoor activities. That sounds particularly useful and is a handy upgrade.

Adventure lovers will appreciate the expanded Expedition mode, which now supports route import and navigation. The addition of a Golf app provides multiple playing modes and tutorials.

New watch faces, including Fearless and Classic Shimmer, offer additional personalization options. A new screenshot feature enables users to capture and share screen contents easily.

Huawei says, significant improvements have been made to the notification and alarm systems. Users can now more easily track notification sources and independently adjust alarm volumes.

While currently available in select European countries and China, Huawei plans to expand the update to additional regions in the near future. Users are encouraged to check for update availability through their device settings or the Huawei Health app.
