Polar Fitness Program lands on iOS after Android debut
Polar’s new Fitness Program subscription has officially arrived on iOS. The feature first launched on Android about a month ago, and is now rolling out more broadly.
What the Fitness Program actually does
Polar’s latest addition is a subscription-based service that lives inside the Polar Flow app. It costs €9.99 per month and aims to offer guided training with a more personal touch. This includes a training plan that updates every four weeks, weekly feedback, and workouts that adapt as you progress. It’s essentially an updated version of the free running program.
The Fitness Program doesn’t replace any existing features in the app or on your watch. That part matters. Everything that was free still is. But this new tier does signal a shift in approach. Until now, Polar stood out for offering the full experience without any additional fees. With this launch, that model has changed slightly for now.
The iOS rollout means a much bigger chunk of Polar users can now see what it’s all about. You can tap into a two week free trial if you are interested.

Polar is now on the same path as others
The arrival of this paid program doesn’t immediately take anything away. But it does open the door to future changes. It’s easy to imagine deeper recovery analytics or readiness scores ending up behind a paywall later on. That’s exactly what some Garmin users fear will happen with Connect+. Now Polar users are asking the same kinds of questions.
That said, it’s not hard to see why a feature like this carries a fee. Building out adaptive plans that adjust each week takes effort and ongoing support. Unlike a one-off feature drop, this is a service that evolves in real time. From that perspective, charging for it makes sense.
