Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro gets HRV tracking in latest update

Firmware version 5.1.0.118 is now rolling out to the Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro. The big addition is official support for heart rate variability, with values viewable on both the watch and in the smartphone app.

HRV is now live on Watch Fit 4 Pro

Following a stint in Beta testing, Huawei has now enabled heart rate variability tracking with this latest firmware. The feature integrates directly into the Heart section of the Health app, and users are already reporting that it works reliably. You’ll find both the HRV range and daily averages listed alongside your usual heart rate data. The readings come with familiar visualisation, in a style that matches Huawei’s existing health stats layout.

The heart rate app on the watch itself also shows HRV, making it easy to glance at your current state. According to the changelog, animations and recovery data after workouts have been added too. These touches give the feature more day-to-day context, instead of burying it in obscure graphs.

The firmware brings more than just HRV

Version 5.1.0.118 weighs in at just under 58MB and is being pushed out in stages. In addition to HRV support, the update improves system stability and enriches the interface. Huawei has added extra content to the heart rate app itself, likely to make data interpretation easier for less technical users.

So far, users haven’t reported any bugs or slowdowns following the install. The interface appears snappy, and syncing remains fast. That’s encouraging given how some previous firmware pushes have occasionally caused lag or syncing issues with certain phones.

As usual, Huawei recommends keeping Bluetooth enabled and making sure the Huawei Health app is fully up to date before installing. The watch restarts automatically after the update is complete, and the entire process typically takes just a few minutes.
