Xiaomi Band 10 Pro timing likely to follow last year’s pattern

The Xiaomi Band 10 launched globally on June 27th. So far, there’s been no mention of a Pro version. But don’t let that surprise you as it’s consistent with Xiaomi’s usual approach. Last year’s Band 9 Pro arrived several months after the standard model. The Band 8 Pro followed a similar schedule the year before.

Late summer, early autumn launch

A Band 10 Pro feels very likely. If the pattern of the last few years holds, the Pro should arrive anywhere between late August and early October. That would align with IFA which starts in the first week of September. To remind, this is Europe’s largest consumer tech event, which Xiaomi typically attends.

A late-year launch, say in November or December, feels unlikely since that overlaps directly with the holiday shopping period. At the same time, a near-term launch seems off the table too. There haven’t been any regulatory clues or leaks. So the next few weeks are probably quiet.

What Band 10 Pro would likely offer

As far as the likely specs – well, built-in GPS is the obvious one. Some expected it to show up in the regular Band 10, but Xiaomi has kept that to Connected GPS again. So the Pro version becomes the natural place for onboard positioning. That was the case with previous generations.

Design will also shift. The Pro version moves away from the slim band format. It’s wider, with more screen real estate. Closer to a smartwatch in shape, though still keeping the same lightweight feel. Last year’s 9 Pro also included an electronic compass, but Xiaomi has already added that to the regular Band 10 this time. So that upgrade’s no longer exclusive.

That leaves the door open for something else. Possibly a barometric altimeter. It’s still missing from both the regular and Pro models, even though it would fit the feature set. There’s also usually some variation in build and battery life. And of course, price. The Pro variant is always the more expensive one, and the design typically reflects that.
