Amazfit leaves Active 2 and Bip 6 with almost no updates ahead
Zepp Health has updated its public software roadmap, and three fairly recent watches are barely visible on it. The Active 2 Round, Active 2 Square and Bip 6 have just one shared update listed through February 2027, even though none has reached its official end-of-life date.
That looks a bit odd when you compare their row with the rest of the table. Newer watches have several months of features lined up, while these three are left with a mostly empty stretch of boxes.
One feature is all they get
The revised roadmap covers updates from October 2026 into early 2027. For the Active 2 Round, Active 2 Square and Bip 6, October is blank, December is blank, and there is nothing shown for January or February.
The only entry appears in November. Zepp Health lists iOS Notification Forwarding for users in the European Union, which should allow supported iPhone notifications to include actions, replies and images on the watch.
That may be useful for some owners, but it is hardly a broad software programme. Android users get nothing from it, while iPhone owners outside the EU are excluded because Apple currently limits the underlying feature by region.
The difference becomes clearer when you look at newer models. Watches such as the Balance 3, Balance Ultra and T-Rex 3 range have route improvements, automatic swim-rest detection, battery-management tools, workout-interface changes, ski-tracking improvements and Strava Live Segments listed across the same period.
Their official support has not ended
Zepp Health maintains a separate security-support page with official end-of-life dates. And what stands out is that all three watches remain inside their support periods.
The Bip 6 is listed for security updates until January 2027. Both Active 2 versions are covered until June 2028, leaving the Round and Square models with more than a year and a half of official support still remaining.
So why are these devices being left behind?
Zepp Health does provide an explanation. On the same roadmap page, it describes the Active 2 Round, Active 2 Square and Bip 6 as older products affected by hardware memory limitations.
According to the company, these watches will receive only the most important functions and optimisations highlighted on the roadmap. Zepp Health specifically says future map optimisation, route-navigation improvements, Training Calendar and training-course features will not be supported.
That does not mean existing navigation is being removed. The Active 2 and Bip 6 can already import routes and display offline maps, but they will miss some of the newer navigation work being rolled out elsewhere.
So there you have it. The watches will continue working, and security updates should continue until their published EOL dates, but their feature development appears to have slowed much earlier.
