Xiaomi Smart Band 10 gets smoother visuals and better widget support

Xiaomi is rolling out firmware version 3.2.1 for the Smart Band 10. The update brings minor UI improvements, expanded widget support and tweaks to GNSS positioning display.

Visual and functional polish

The changelog mentions improved dynamic effects for the band’s display. In practice, this likely means smoother transitions and slightly more responsive animations when swiping through screens or opening apps.

Xiaomi has also expanded widget support. You can now add up to eight, which makes the band’s home screen more useful for those who rely on quick-glance data like weather, steps or heart rate.

GNSS display accuracy also sees some optimisation. While the Smart Band 10 relies on connected GPS, not onboard satellite positioning, this tweak appears to focus on how GNSS-derived distance or location data is presented within the app or band interface. This could make metrics like pace or distance feel more in sync with actual GPS routes.

The update also includes the usual round of bug fixes. Xiaomi hasn’t listed which ones, but these sorts of clean-ups often target syncing quirks, occasional crashes or misreported metrics.

Worth updating?

If you’ve already been using the Smart Band 10 regularly, this is an update worth grabbing. While it won’t transform the band into something dramatically new, the smoother visuals and widget improvements do nudge the experience forward.

I recently reviewed the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 and found it to be a solid upgrade over the previous generation. The device doesn’t just focus on health and fitness, it also includes a decent set of smart features that cover most day-to-day needs.

Notifications work well, including calls and app alerts, and the larger 1.72-inch display makes them easier to read. Watch faces have more animation now, and the updated vibration motor lets you set different patterns for different types of alerts. You also get useful extras like a weather widget, alarms, a flashlight with two modes, and music controls. While there’s no onboard music storage and NFC is still region-limited, the overall package is a reliable fitness tracker.
