Circul Ring 2 Max gets improved sensors, pre-orders now open
Circul Ring 2 Max has been made official a few days ago, with pre-orders of the smart ring now open. The new device comes with improved comfort, upgraded algorithms, more accurate sensors and a few extra days of battery life.
A ring that tracks blood pressure
When the previous version of Circul Ring launched on Indiegogo in 2024, it stood out for one specific reason. It was one of the few smart rings promising blood pressure tracking. That set it apart in a crowded space where most competitors were still sticking to basics like heart rate, sleep and activity.
Whether the blood pressure feature delivered consistently is debatable. Some users have posted online saying the readings fluctuate too much to be reliable. Others claim that it works reasonably well.
The firmware has seen steady updates since launch, which seems to have improved overall performance and accuracy. Early impressions of poor syncing and rough edges have softened a bit over time, which is usually a good sign for any startup hardware.
One of the more novel features of the Circul Ring is its stretchable build. The shell itself is metallic, but the ring has an adaptive form-factor that can flex slightly to better fit the finger. That helps with comfort for some, although a few users found the fit too awkward for all-day wear.
What Circul Ring 2 Max brings
Now we get an upgraded version. And as far as features, you still get the blood pressure readings. Time will tell whether they are more accurate than on its predecessor.
The company says, one of the improvements is that the sensors have been upgraded. With the previous version you get “high-precision interval sampling”. Now you get continuous 24/7 monitoring of heart rate, HRV, stress and energy levels. Which means the data updates every second. Some users have complained about the calibration process and sensor reliability of the predecessor, so hopefully this resolves at least some of those issues.
There are also some improvements to the Heart Health Index and sleep debt management. But the change there doesn’t seem to be drastic.
Beyond that battery life has been extended slightly. Now you get 8-10 days, where as the 2024 device is good for 4-7 days. So that sounds like a nice improvement.
Another issue that has been addressed is to do with the design. This version comes with a rounded edge-free design for better comfort.
The ring is available on the company’s website, currently $219 – so down on the $269 price it will go for after the sale. You can pick it up in a choice between Space Gray, Silver, Bright Navy and Gold options.
