The circular Pebble is back with Round 2

Pebble has taken the wraps off its new Round 2 smartwatch. The device brings back the classic circular design with modern updates like a touchscreen, mic and speaker, along with up to 30 days of battery life.

This follows the teaser we covered in our previous article, where Pebble hinted at a January 2 reveal using a circular animation. As expected, the announcement wasn’t about a smart ring or fitness tracker. It was about completing the new lineup with yet another watch, and it’s exactly what many in the community were hoping for.

The return of a fan favourite shape

Round 2 takes cues from the original Pebble Time Round but adds a sharper 1.3 inch e-paper display, heart rate tracking and longer battery life. The stainless steel frame keeps it light and durable, while the polycarbonate backing helps keep the cost down. It’s thinner than most smartwatches at just 8.1mm, and measures 41.5mm across.

Interaction is handled by a touchscreen plus the classic four-button layout. You also get a mic and speaker, RGB backlight, and linear resonance actuator for haptics. Battery life is listed at 30 days, a big step up from the original round model. Like all Pebbles, it runs PebbleOS, supports mobile apps and is fully open source.

How it compares to Pebble Time 2

Round 2 is clearly aimed at users who prefer a sleeker, more compact form factor. It’s smaller, lighter and more minimal than Pebble Time 2. But it doesn’t sacrifice core features.

The main differences are in screen size, thickness and sensor set. Pebble Time 2 is slightly chunkier, with a 1.5 inch e-paper display and a square-ish body. It lacks a heart rate monitor but otherwise offers the same software experience, haptics, audio features and app support.

Essentially, Pebble Round 2 gives you a more stylish design and slightly better health tracking, while Time 2 leans into nostalgia and that retro-square feel.

Pricing and availability

Pebble Round 2 will retail for $199 and ships in May 2026. That’s $26 cheaper than the Time 2, which starts arriving in April. Both use the standard Pebble charger and target 30m water resistance. Strap width on Round 2 is 22mm, so plenty of aftermarket options will be available.

With the Index 01 smart ring already in production and Time 2 headed for delivery, Round 2 feels like a nice addition. It offers a different design language without giving up the core Pebble experience. We do know there are three new devices in development. This is one of them. The other two remain a mystery, for now.
