Realme Watch S5 launch is now set for May 22

Realme Watch S5 is coming on May 22nd, and Realme’s teaser page already gives us a good look at what to expect. The main detail still missing is the price, which will probably decide how interesting this watch really is once it lands.

Realme is keeping the pitch simple

Starting with look and feel, and the Watch S5 has a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with 1500 nits peak brightness, a 60Hz refresh rate and Always-On Display support. That should help with outdoor visibility, which is still one of the areas where cheaper watches can feel compromised. Realme also lists Smart Night Vision, although we will need to see how that works in normal use.

The design sounds reasonably lightweight. Realme lists a 32 gram body, 11.8mm thickness. Sand White and Rock Grey colour options are there along with a high-gloss ceramic texture.

Comprehensive fitness stats

Realme seems to be positioning the Watch S5 more around fitness and guided training than simple activity logging. Alongside 110 sports modes and 5 GNSS positioning, the teaser page mentions running courses, pacing metronome, running goals, Smart Partner, real-time running metrics, Core Stats and Aerobic Efficacy.

On the health side, the watch includes heart rate, blood oxygen, stress, sleep and women’s health tracking, plus ambient noise monitoring. Realme also refers to a “24/7 health guardian”, which appears to package those features into one continuous tracking system.

Battery life could be the easy sell

Realme claims up to 20 days of battery life for the Watch S5. That will depend on settings, GPS use and Always-On Display, but even a lower real-world figure should still beat full smartwatch platforms that need charging every day or two.

The watch also gets 5ATM water resistance, swim tracking and wet hand touch support. That rounds out the practical side nicely. It means the Watch S5 is not just for casual step counting, at least based on the listed specs.

Realme is also adding some smarter extras, including One-Touch AI Assistant, Smart Voice Reply, Smart App integration, Call Relay and Live Watch Face. Those could be useful, but they are not the main story here.

Realme Watch S5

The Watch S5 looks like a fairly direct product. Realme has covered the main areas people look for in this price range, from display and battery life to outdoor tracking and health features.

Realme has revealed far more than a basic teaser here, so there should not be too many surprises left by the time the watch launches on May 22. Price is the one detail that still needs filling in.
