What Pulsetto is and how it works

For those not in the know, Pulsetto is a non-invasive wearable that stimulates the vagus nerve. It uses dry electrodes built into the arms of the neckband, with the aim of activating your parasympathetic nervous system. This helps reduce stress, improve sleep and promote relaxation.

The app offers guided sessions that target different outcomes, such as stress relief, improved focus, or better sleep. Each session takes around 20 minutes and lets you adjust the stimulation intensity. It’s not a 24/7 wearable. You use it intentionally, when you want to shift your physiological state.

Big savings for the rest of this month

The regular price of Pulsetto is over $600, but this week it’s down to just $260. That’s a $350 discount and one of the biggest sales they’ve had yet. As good as wrist watches have become, at high intensity exercise they are still not as good as heart rate chest straps when it comes to accuracy. That is why many people opt to pair their sports watch with an external monitor when working out.

But there is something that goes beyond the standard heart rate chest strap. Frontier X spits out metrics such as Breathing Rate, Step Cadence, Training Load, Body Shock and Heart Rate Variability (HRV). But of more use is its advanced heart info – namely ECG, cardiac rhythm and cardiac strain. You’ll get real-time vibration alerts if you cross pre-defined thresholds. This enables you to find out in real time if your training intensity is causing undue stress to your heart.

Pulsetto vagus nerve stimulator

Pulsetto provides an innovative approach to managing stress and improving sleep through vagus nerve stimulation. In testing, my experience has been positive, particularly in terms of better sleep and reduced stress. It offers a compact, minimalist design that’s user-friendly and easy to operate, making it an appealing option for those seeking a straightforward solution.

The app is intuitive, and the device features short, manageable programs ranging from 4 to 10 minutes, tailored to needs like stress reduction or anxiety relief. However, the requirement to apply electrode gel may be a minor drawback for some users. Despite this, Pulsetto’s sessions are easy to incorporate into daily routines, offering a practical way to enhance relaxation and well-being.

In terms of results, I noticed immediate improvements in sleep quality, even though I didn’t see changes in HRV like some other users. It’s important to recognize that results can vary, and it may take up to a month to see the full benefits. While Pulsetto isn’t a substitute for traditional practices like meditation or yoga, it provides a quick and convenient alternative for those struggling to maintain consistency, making it a valuable tool for improving stress management and overall health.

Muse S Athena

Meditation sessions are still a core part of the experience, but they feel a bit more purposeful now. The new Strength feature adds a challenge element, which helps make the practice feel like something you can improve at. Sleep tracking is still one of Muse’s strengths, with tools like Go-to-Sleep Journeys and the Digital Sleep Pill helping you wind down at night. It also adds brainwave visualisations and cognitive scores so you can actually see how you’re doing.

If you’re really into mental performance, this is the version to go for. It’s more than just a meditation tool now. With the better sensors and deeper feedback, Muse S Athena feels like a proper brain training device. Definitely a step up if you’re looking to go beyond just mindfulness.

Meditation is still a big part of the experience, but it’s less passive now. There’s a new Strength session that helps you track progress. Sleep tools like Go-to-Sleep Journeys and the Digital Sleep Pill are still here, and they work well. You also get brainwave visuals and cognitive scores, which make the data feel more useful.

If you’re serious about brain training, Athena is worth a look. As mentioned in our hands-on review, it feels like a proper mental fitness tool, not just a meditation aid. The sensors, feedback and tracking features are better across the board.

Pongbot PACE S PRO

The Pongbot PACE S PRO is made for serious tennis training. It’s fast, accurate and brings real structure to solo practice. Players can control spin, speed and difficulty, making each session feel like focused, high-rep hitting rather than just random feeds.

Built-in sensors track your position on court, so the machine adjusts shots on the fly. Delivery stays sharp at high speeds, and switching drills through the app is quick. The battery lasts long enough for extended sessions, and the movement between drills feels smooth and responsive.

Most of the hardware feels solid, though some parts like the hopper and wheels could be sturdier. That said, everything has held up well so far. The real strength of the PACE S PRO is how customisable it is. Once you start building your own drills, it becomes a much more powerful tool.

Atmotube Pro 2

Atmotube Pro 2 is built for people who actually want to know what they’re breathing. It’s not flashy, it doesn’t fit in your pocket, and it’s not trying to be anything other than what it is. What you get is solid sensor hardware in a portable format that works just as well indoors as it does outside.

The added sensors give it more range than the original Pro. You can clip it to your bag during a commute, then leave it on a desk at home and keep tracking. It doesn’t need constant attention. Once you sort out the balance between battery life and how often it logs data, it just gets on with the job.

The device does something that most smart home gear and wearables don’t. It gives you real-time environmental data that actually means something. Whether you’re tracking exposure on a run, spotting ventilation problems indoors, or just trying to understand the air in your neighbourhood, this device helps you make sense of it.

For day-to-day use, there’s not much of a learning curve. The app is decent and the hardware does what it’s supposed to. You could buy a home monitor that gives you some of the same insights, but the difference here is portability. This one moves with you. When readings change as you enter more polluted areas, it gives you a chance to reduce exposure or change your route.

In terms of detail and coverage, Ultrahuman Home outpaces most air quality monitors by a wide margin. While other devices stick to the basics, this one gives a full breakdown of your indoor environment with strong hardware and deep, layered data.

It tracks everything from CO₂ and PM2.5 to VOCs, light, noise, temperature and humidity. Real-time readings are paired with clear indicators that show what’s in a healthy range. The app is clean and easy to navigate, offering both a quick overview and detailed trend graphs throughout the day. You can easily spot changes or problem areas.

One downside is that the device itself doesn’t give a clear visual cue about air quality—you still need to check the app to see what’s going on. That might bother anyone who wants instant feedback without picking up their phone.

There’s also a feature coming that ties Ring Air data to these readings. It’s not live yet, but once it is, you’ll be able to connect your sleep or stress data to the environment around you. That could make the system feel more complete and offer more insight into what’s affecting your recovery or focus.

The emphasis this year sits mostly on lower entry pricing for longer commitments. That will appeal to anyone weighing a switch from another device or thinking about returning after a break.

New members can save on WHOOP 4.0 and higher tiers

New users can get started with the 12 month One membership on WHOOP 4.0 for $129, which is $20 off. The Peak plan comes in at $199, and the top-tier Life plan is $299. That’s $40 and $60 off their usual pricing. These particular deals are only for new memberships and, in the case of WHOOP One, only available in the US.

Cyber Sale pricing will also be available via authorised WHOOP retail partners. That means shoppers may be able to pick up discounted bundles or regional exclusives, depending on location.

Returning users and existing members get upgrade incentives

If you’ve cancelled in the past and want to return, the same Cyber Sale prices apply for reactivating your membership. Existing users can also benefit from discounted upgrade paths. Upgrading from the One tier to Peak on the WHOOP 5.0 platform brings a $40 saving. The biggest drop is the $60 off for those going from Peak to Life on WHOOP’s MG tier.
