The 3rd generation watches are a little slimmer and more feature-packed than their predecessors. They both sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, a magnetic charger and swappable bands.

In terms of functions, you get a built in fitness tracker, notifications (social media, text,  email, app alerts, multiple time zones, alarm clock, calendar alerts). There are also other functions such as personalise your dial, control your music and LED flashlight. Both watches will run Google’s Android Wear 2.0 operating system, which means they come with a bunch of goodies including standalone apps, Google Assistant, personalizing watch faces, and Android Pay.

While the specs are probably nothing to get too excited about, the main upgrade is in the design. With a thinner and full-circle form-factor, the watches are definitely more stylish and better looking their their predecessors.

Venture is the female version of the watch. It features a 11.5 mm case with a 42 mm diameter, which makes it the company’s thinnest smartwatch to date. Q Explorist sports a slightly thicker 12.6 mm case with a 45 mm diameter which makes it Fossil’s thinnest watch for the male demographic. On the negative side, the battery life is a measly 24 hours.

Both Fossil Q Venture and Q Explorist can be bought on Amazon.
