As we go about our day we experience the world around us. Some days are great, others not so much. All this can take toll on our wellbeing. This is why its important to monitor your stress and emotions.
Essential reading: Ten stress busting wearables to help you chill
The appropriately named Upmood is a new wearable that continuously monitors your biodata to figure out how you’re feeling. The gizmo detects your stress levels, vitality levels and emotions. The Hong Kong startup says it can do this by keeping tabs on your heart rate through a PPG sensor with an unprecedented level of accuracy. Algorithms then turn the raw pulsewave data into actionable analytics.
All this essentially allows you to understand yourself on a deeper level. You can connect with loved ones via the accompanying smartphone app and view their mood or share your updates within the ‘mood feed’. The app also tracks your vitals over time, empowering you to take better care of your health.
The wearable sounds very much like SenceBand, another crowdfunded emotion-tracking wearable. It recently started shipping to mixed reviews. Upmood looks better. Lets hope it works better, too.
