If you own a Versa smartwatch, it can receive call, text and app notifications from your phone. This is handy as it allows you to stay connected on the go with your phone safely tucked away.
But a number of users are reporting issues with clearing notifications. A Fitbit Community forum thread that started in late December has grown to over 100 replies and more than 4,000 views.
It seems Versa wearers are able to view notifications but when they press “Clear all”, in some instances a few stick around. If they try to delete the pesky notification(s), they get the message “Action Failed, this notification has expired and is no longer valid”.
If you are experiencing this issue, the first thing to do is restart your watch. This is done by pressing and holding the back (left) and bottom (right) buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take about 10 seconds. Let go of the buttons.
Alternatively, you can also turn your watch off through its settings, and then press any button to switch it back on. Open the Settings app, tap on About and then Shutdown.
Try clearing the notification now. This fix has resolved the issue for most. If it doesn’t work the first time around, restart your Versa a few more times and try to clear them again.
Another possible solution is changing the clock face. A user on the forum reports “Since I changed what I was using the error never happens again.”
Fitbit has confirmed it is aware of the glitch and is working on a permanent fix. Hopefully it won’t be too long before it rolls it out.
