Galaxy Watch 6 Series: Marketing images and sizes unveiled

In a recent development, a promotional image for Samsung’s upcoming smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, was unveiled by a tech store in Korea. These new additions to Samsung’s wearable tech line-up are expected to make their debut at the Unpacked event scheduled for July 26.

The image, which was later circulated on Twitter, takes a different approach from previous promotional materials. Instead of showcasing the actual devices, it simply highlights the name “Galaxy Watch 6”. However, the fine print provides some key insights.

According to the details, consumers will have the option to choose between two connectivity variants for each model: Wi-Fi only and a combination of Wi-Fi and Cellular (LTE). Furthermore, Samsung appears to be offering a range of sizes for each model, giving potential buyers plenty of options to find the perfect fit. The Galaxy Watch 6 will be available in 40mm and 44mm sizes, while the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will come in 43mm and 47mm sizes.

Not the only leak

This latest info follows on from official marketing renders shared by WinFuture a few weeks ago. They gave us a detailed peek into what we can expect from the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 range. As expected, it seems the company is bringing back a fan-favourite feature: the physical rotating bezel.

All the various sizes and editions of Galaxy Watch are expected to be powered by the Samsung Exynos W930 SoC. The new processor should be a bit snappier as compared to the current generation device.

Some notable changes have been made to the display of the Galaxy Watch 6 line. Samsung has installed larger OLED panels in its new smartwatches, achieved by shrinking the edges. The visibly larger display is evident in the images.

As previously reported, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, distinguished by its black and silver colour variants, will reintroduce the rotating physical bezel. This makes the edge around the displays slightly wider when compared to the vanilla variant. An interesting addition is a new leather band with visible stitching, distinguishing it from its cheaper sister models.

With the bezel, various functions of the operating system can be controlled again. This is a feature much loved by users in previous versions.

The exact dimensions of the display are yet to be revealed, but it is rumoured they come in at 1.31-inch and 1.47-inch for the smaller and larger sizes, respectively. As usual, all models are waterproof up to 5 ATM.

The Watch 6, on the other hand, will come in black, silver, and a new beige variant. These colours have been chosen as they presumably match the other new Galaxy smartphones and tablets set to be presented at Samsung’s Unpacked event. Of course, it’s entirely possible that Samsung might introduce more colour variants further down the line.

As can be seen from the renders, Samsung’s new Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic pack a sporty design with a flat sapphire crystal panel over the display and two physical buttons. The battery is expected to be larger, despite the external dimensions of the watches remaining pretty much unchanged. It will be interesting to see what kind of battery life improvement this brings.

While the prices aare yet to be disclosed, the leaked marketing images suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 series is shaping up to be an iterative upgrade. Of course, this is all speculation. We won’t know for sure until the official reveal.
