Redmi Band 3 brings 18 day battery & health features under $25
Xiaomi has expanded its wearable lineup with the launch of the Redmi Band 3 in China, offering the fitness tracker at an introductory price of 159 yuan (approximately $22). This is a continuation of the range which has catered to the budget-conscious.
For those not in the know Redmi is actually a sub-brand of Xiaomi, ever since 2019. The first iteration in the series was launched back in 2020. Band 2 followed in early 2023. It comes with 1.47-inch TFT LCD display, 5 ATM water resistance, basic fitness tracking sensors and battery life up to 2 weeks. There has also been a interim Pro edition.
Now we have the debut of generation 3.
Redmi Band 3 – what’s new?
The Redmi Band 3 packs the same 1.47-inch TFT display as its predecessor, delivering visuals at 172×320 pixels with a 60Hz refresh rate. Its compact frame measures 45.90 x 26.94 x 9.99mm and weighs just 16.5 grams. So a very lightweight device, not just in price.
Battery life stands out as a key feature, with the 300mAh capacity supporting up to 18 days of use on a single charge. So a bit of an improvement there. When power runs low, the device requires less than two hours to return to full capacity.
The fitness band incorporates decent health monitoring capabilities for a budget activity gadget, including continuous heart rate tracking and sleep analysis. Adequate water resistance is there, once again.
Connectivity receives an upgrade with Bluetooth 5.3 integration, ensuring stable connections with paired devices. The band supports practical features such as focus notifications, offline payments, and alerts for incoming calls and messages.
Currently available in classic black and beige options, the Redmi Band 3 sells for around $22 in its local market of China. No word yet on international availability, but this will likely come in the next few months.
