These methods will get you a 20% discount code on a Garmin

Getting 20% off a Garmin is easier than you might think. Yes, these discount codes do exist—you just need to know where to find them. With a little effort, you can unlock savings through wellness apps, your insurance company, employee perks, or even your gym membership.

The Optimity route takes a little work

This is probably the most popular path right now. The Optimity app partners with Garmin and gives out 20 percent discount codes if you rack up enough points. Garmin even has a dedicated page for Optimity promotions on its website.

You’ll need to collect 5,000 credits in the app, which you can do by answering surveys, watching short videos, and tapping through mini health-related activities. It’s not instant, but most people can get there in a week or two of light effort.

Once you get the credits, you exchange them for a single-use Garmin discount code. This works on watches that are more than 60 days old—so you won’t be able to use it on brand-new models. But pretty much everything else is fair game. It’s a small hoop to jump through for a decent payoff.

Work perks and other legit discounts

If you’re in the UK and work in certain sectors, you might already have access to a 20 percent Garmin discount and not even know it. Services like BlueLight Card (for NHS, emergency services, and some civil servants), DiscountsForTeachers, and PerksAtWork all offer Garmin deals. These are easy wins if you already qualify.

The US has its own equivalents—some large employers have wellness portals or staff perks sites that quietly offer Garmin discounts. If you’re employed full-time, it’s worth a quick search or email to HR. You might find out there’s a deal just sitting there waiting to be used.

Health insurance discounts can add up

This one catches people by surprise. Some health insurance companies have deals baked into their member dashboards. If you’re with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, for example, you can log in and find the Garmin discount under the “Care” section—just go to “Discounts” and follow the Garmin link. It takes you to a hidden version of the Garmin online store with prices marked down.

In the UK, Vitality has something similar. Depending on your level of engagement with their health tracking program, they’ll offer partial or full discounts on Garmin devices. Some of these are structured as reimbursements, others are direct discounts—either way, it’s real money saved.

Even gyms are getting in on it

If you’ve got a Planet Fitness Black Card membership, open up the app and head to the perks section. You’ll find a Garmin offer—20 percent off most of the year, and 25 percent off during Black Friday. Everyone else with a regular membership only gets 10 percent, so if you were thinking of joining for a month just to get the better discount, it might be worth the math. Short-term signup, big-ticket purchase, then cancel. Garmin doesn’t check if you’re still a member afterward.

One more thing before you buy

Before hitting that purchase button, plug the watch model into https://camelcamelcamel.com. It’s a simple site that tracks Amazon price history. Set a target price and get alerts when it drops. Combine that with a discount code, and you could time things just right for the best possible deal.

Garmin does run sales from time to time, but they rarely top 20% off. So these behind-the-scenes tricks can make a big difference. It’s all legit, but it just doesn’t get shouted about. And that’s probably why they still work.
