Apple Watch’s “Running Day Challenge” takes off June 4th
Apple Watch users are gearing up for another challenge – one that specifically caters to runners. On June 4th, the company will have its a “Running Day Challenge” to coincide with Global Running Day. This unique event invites users of all levels to lace up their shoes and hit the pavement (or treadmill) for a virtual 5K.
Mark your calendar for the task, which takes place exclusively on the first Wednesday in June. Use the Apple Watch’s Workout app to record any running workout and reach the distance goal of at least 5 kilometres (3.1 miles). What you need to do doesn’t sound too difficult.
As a reward for your efforts, you’ll earn a special digital badge to showcase your accomplishment in the Fitness app, along with unique, running-themed stickers to use in Messages and FaceTime.
Here is what some of them look like.

This is only the second year that Apple is hosting this challenge. Like last year, the company has made it inclusive for all runners. Whether you prefer the road, trail, track, or the comfort of a treadmill, every running workout counts towards completing the challenge. This flexibility ensures that anyone with an Apple Watch can participate, regardless of their preferred terrain.
