It’s official, OnePlus Watch 3 now comes in 43mm

Just launched today, the OnePlus Watch 3 is now available in a smaller 43mm size. It keeps the core platform intact while adjusting the build for those who found the original too bulky.

This is not just a downsized version

When I reviewed the original OnePlus Watch 3 earlier this year, I noted how its 46.6mm case gave it a bold presence. That worked for some, but not everyone. This new 43mm version takes a clear step in the opposite direction. It weighs just 37.8 grams and has a rounder, more neutral shape. OnePlus didn’t just shrink the casing; they refined it. The buttons are flatter, the case lines are cleaner, and the watch sits more naturally on smaller wrists.

It still uses stainless steel for the case and a ceramic back for comfort. The front is protected by 2.5D curved glass that blends smoothly into the body. There’s now a stronger focus on visual elegance, without changing the core materials. Buyers can choose between Silver Steel and Black Steel finishes.

The AMOLED display measures 1.32 inches. OnePlus supports always-on functionality and animated UI transitions, and the display blends into the case to deliver a more unified aesthetic. Watch faces include a wide range of options, with video support for users who want to set personal photos or clips from their phone.

Battery life and performance hold up

OnePlus hasn’t cut corners when it comes to endurance. The 43mm Watch 3 runs on the company’s dual engine architecture, which is the same approach used in its larger model. It delivers up to 60 hours of battery life in smart mode, and up to 7 days in power saver mode. The watch also supports Watch VOOC Flash Charging, which means just 10 minutes of charging gives you enough for a full day of smart use.

It holds the same durability standards as the original. The watch is IP68 rated, supports 5ATM water resistance, and passes MIL-STD-810H tests. That means it’s ready for daily wear, swim tracking and workouts in any environment.

Mental wellbeing gets more attention

Health and wellbeing continue to be a major focus. The 43mm Watch 3 includes the upgraded OnePlus Mind & Body Evaluation, which goes beyond basic fitness metrics. A built-in barometer checks your fatigue levels every 30 minutes and offers insight into your mental state. The watch tracks daily stress patterns and offers context around what might be causing them.

For active stress relief, users can launch a one-minute guided breathing session, complete with real-time feedback showing how the body responds. You’ll also get summaries of your mind and body status at the end of each day and week, plus personalised prompts aimed at reducing stress.

Sensor coverage remains broad. The watch supports all the usuals including heart rate, SpO₂, skin temperature, stress, sleep and more. Workout support spans over 100 modes, with automatic recognition for several of them.

The whole thing runs on Wear OS by Google (version 5), and it supports the usual ecosystem of apps and integrations. You can check messages and emails, stream or download music via YouTube Music, make contactless payments with Google Wallet and use Google Maps for navigation. The Google Play Store is available for app downloads and syncing, and OnePlus confirms the device will support Gemini, Google’s AI assistant, in the near future.

Compact size without major compromises

The OnePlus Watch 3 43mm brings a much-needed option to those who wanted the same experience as the larger model, just in a slimmer package. It doesn’t drop core features, materials or software. What you get is a more refined take on the same platform, better suited for smaller wrists. At £269, with interchangeable straps priced at £29.99, it’s a fair deal for anyone who liked the Watch 3 but hesitated because of the size.
