Amazfit Helio Core lands with new colours and armband form factor

Zepp Health has launched the Helio Core, a newly branded version of the sensor found in the Helio Strap. Some were expecting a special edition of the Strap, but this is likely what the company had in mind instead.

This is a new product, sort of

The Helio Core is not really a new device, despite the way it’s being promoted. It’s the same sensor unit that ships with the Helio Strap. Internally, nothing has changed. All the same specs and features are there, including the sixth-gen BioTracker PPG module and offline heart rate storage.

What’s actually new is the form factor. The band is no longer a wristband. It’s now designed as an armband. That change shifts the intended use, making it better suited for workouts where wrist placement can be uncomfortable or inaccurate.

You can buy it by itself or bundled with the armband mount and charging base. It comes in three colours: neon green, red and light purple. Black is missing, even though that was the default option with the original strap kit.

Zepp Health refers to the Helio accessory as an “armband” rather than a “wristband.” That’s accurate given the intended use and makes the product feel a bit more purpose-built.

The strap itself looks unchanged, still made from nylon with a Velcro-style closure and standard loop-through adjustment. But it now comes as part of a modular kit: you can buy just the Core or go for a bundle that includes the armband mount and the magnetic charger.

This change also opens the door for more modular accessories down the line. A leg strap, chest strap or even a clothing clip would make sense within this new structure. At the moment, only the armband configuration is being offered.

Pricing and availability

In the US, the Helio Core alone retails for $69.99 on the company’s website. If you want the full setup (sensor, armband, and charging base), the price is $104.99. That’s five dollars more than the Helio Strap bundle, which includes all the same components but only in black.

So this isn’t about new hardware. It’s a branding refresh, a shift in how the product is packaged and worn, with some added colour on top. It’s aimed at existing Helio users who want a second sensor or a different look, not those expecting new features. The tracking experience stays exactly the same.
