Huawei Watch Fit 5 and Fit 5 Pro officially launch with brighter displays
Huawei has now officially launched the Watch Fit 5 and Watch Fit 5 Pro in China, confirming the display sizes, brightness levels and pricing after last week’s early leak. The standard model starts at CNY 1,099 while the Pro version jumps to CNY 2,099, bringing sapphire glass, ECG and free diving support for the higher asking price.
That gives us a much clearer picture of where Huawei is positioning these watches. The regular version stays in familiar fitness tracker territory, while the Pro pushes much closer to the premium sports watch category with upgrades that go beyond just looks.
The standard model keeps things simple
The Huawei Watch Fit 5 comes with a 1.82-inch AMOLED display that reaches up to 2,500 nits of brightness. It uses an aluminium alloy case, measures 9.5mm thick and weighs around 27 grams, so Huawei is clearly keeping the focus on a slim and lightweight design.
This is the more accessible option in the lineup, with pricing between CNY 1,099 and CNY 1,199 depending on the version. That works out to roughly $160 to $175, which keeps it in the same conversation as other upper-mid-range fitness watches rather than full smartwatch flagships.

The overall design does not move too far away from previous Watch Fit models. It is still very much a rectangular watch built for people who want a bigger screen than a band can offer, without stepping into the bulk of a full outdoor watch.
Huawei also says the watch brings improved heart rate accuracy and a new micro-stretching feature, which appears to be aimed at nudging users into short movement sessions during the day rather than only focusing on formal workouts.
The Pro model is where things get more interesting
The Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro gets the bigger 1.92-inch AMOLED display. It also adds sapphire glass and a titanium alloy bezel, which gives it a noticeably more premium hardware setup than the standard version.
This is also where the health and sports features start to separate more clearly. The Pro includes ECG monitoring and support for diving up to 40 metres, which makes it much more than just a prettier version of the same watch.
Huawei is pricing this model between CNY 2,099 and CNY 2,199, or roughly $308 to $323. That puts it in a very different bracket, and it suggests Huawei sees this as a competitor for buyers looking at higher-end Garmin, Amazfit and Apple Watch alternatives rather than basic fitness trackers.
One important detail is that the official launch confirms the Pro brightness at 3,000 nits, not the 3,500 nits suggested by earlier leaks. It is a small correction, but it shows why launch-day confirmation still matters even when most of the hardware has already leaked.
More than just another yearly refresh
What stands out here is that Huawei did not simply add a few cosmetic upgrades and call it a day. The Watch Fit 5 Pro feels like a deliberate attempt to create more distance between the standard and premium models.
Features like sapphire glass, titanium accents, ECG and diving support push it beyond the usual “Pro” naming exercise. It starts to look less like a fitness watch with extras and more like a lighter sports watch for people who do not want something as large as a Huawei Watch GT or Watch Ultimate.
That also makes the contrast with the Watch Ultimate Design Diamond Edition more interesting. One device leans toward luxury and statement styling, while the Watch Fit 5 Pro focuses more on practical sports features with premium materials added on top.
Huawei says sales in China begin on April 29. European pricing has not been fully confirmed yet, but earlier expectations of around €199 for the standard version and €299 for the Pro still look realistic based on where the China pricing has landed.
