Amazfit Active 3 Premium gets new training plans and Explore Nearby
Amazfit Active 3 Premium is getting new firmware with a 15.16MB download. The 3.16.0.2 update adds official 5K and 10K training plans, third-party plan imports, round-trip route planning, improved workout controls and a cleaner interface.
Training plans get more useful
The biggest change is support for more official training plans. Zepp Health says the update adds official running plans for beginner-friendly goals such as 5K and 10K, with a step-by-step structure designed to help users manage training intensity and running pace.
That gives the Active 3 Premium a clearer role for people who want some structure without building every session manually. It also makes the watch feel a little more serious as a running companion, especially for users who are still working towards their first organised distance goal.
The update also adds third-party training plan imports. That means users can sync external training schemes to the watch instead of staying locked inside Zepp Health’s own planning system. For anyone who already follows a plan from another platform or coach, that could be the more important part of the update.
Training calendar cards are another addition. Upcoming plans can now appear directly in the Training Calendar, so users can see what they are supposed to do each day without digging around in the phone app.
Navigation gets a new option
Explore Nearby also looks more useful than the basic name suggests. The update introduces a new round-trip route entry directly on the watch, where users can set a target distance and let the system plan a route.
That could come in handy for runs, walks and casual exploring. It gives users a way to head out without plotting everything in advance, while still keeping some structure around distance.
Back-to-Start Planning has also been added. If a user needs to return early or loses track of where they are during a workout, the watch can calculate a return route with one tap.
This does not turn the Active 3 Premium into a full outdoor mapping watch. But it does make the navigation side more useful for everyday runs, weekend walks and those slightly random routes that happen when you decide to take a different turn.
The interface gets cleaned up
Zepp Health has also redesigned the launcher and Control Center. The new launcher adds customizable Quick Access, which should make it easier to put frequently used apps closer to the surface.
There is also a new onboarding system for new users, plus the Control Center layout is now more compact. Notifications have also been adjusted with a more sports-focused setup, allowing users to filter distractions while training.
Workout controls get some attention
The update also reorganises the workout data layout. Zepp Health says the new design makes key metrics easier to read at a glance, including during faster movement.
Haptic alerts have also been refined. The update adds more distinctive vibration patterns for workout status and goal achievements, so users can get feedback by touch without constantly looking down at the watch.
There is a music-related improvement too. The music card now includes an entry point for third-party music apps, making it easier to switch music apps before or during a workout.
The changelog is still fairly compact, but this looks like a useful update for the Active 3 Premium. It leans into the training side of the watch, adds more practical navigation options and tidies up some everyday interaction points. As usual, the update may roll out gradually depending on region and device settings, so it may not appear for everyone at the same time.
