Amazfit T-Rex 3 firmware 4.4.2.3 brings indoor cycling upgrades

Firmware version 4.4.2.3 is now rolling out to the Amazfit T-Rex 3, just days after the last update introduced podcast support. This one leans more toward backend fixes, but still delivers some handy improvements for cyclists, map users and those relying on push notifications.

A few improvements

The biggest addition is for indoor cyclists who pair the T-Rex 3 with accessories. Once connected to a speed sensor, power meter or cadence sensor, the watch will now generate real-time workout charts from those data streams. That brings the T-Rex 3 closer to what’s expected in structured cycling workouts, especially for indoor use where GPS isn’t involved.

There are also improvements to the Map app and workout tracking pages. Users can now tap the SEL icon directly on the screen to reach navigation settings faster. Zepp Health has also changed the default orientation in the map view to “North Up,” which may be a better fit for trail runners or hikers who prefer a static directional reference.

Weather display behaviour has been revised too. If the app can’t fetch accurate weather data for the workout’s starting location, it won’t display weather info in the summary.

The “Activity” reminder logic has been refined, including new messaging and more consistent behaviour. The update addresses abnormal push notifications that could appear if the app hadn’t fully initialized. While these issues may not have affected most users, it shows that Zepp Health is still actively addressing smaller usability bugs.

Our takeaway

This marks the second firmware update in just a week for the T-Rex 3. While 4.4.2.3 doesn’t add any major new apps, it builds on recent momentum and shows that Zepp Health is still tuning performance across multiple areas.

You may also have missed the news that the company has extended software support for the device by a full year, pushing the end date to September 2027. This was confirmed through an update to the official Zepp Health support page and spotted by users comparing older and newer versions of the listing.
