Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro leak points to sapphire glass and ECG

Huawei’s next fitness watches look close to launch. The standard model is tipped to come with a 1.82-inch AMOLED display and a €199 price tag, while the Pro version steps up to a larger LTPO OLED screen, sapphire glass, titanium accents and a higher €299 starting price.

This actually looks like a fairly substantial update, particularly on the Pro side, where Huawei seems to be pushing harder into premium sports-watch territory rather than just a basic fitness tracker.

Display gets a notable upgrade

The design language remains very much in line with previous Watch Fit devices. Which means you are getting the familiar rectangular form factor that has long drawn comparisons with Apple’s smartwatch design.

According to WinFuture, the regular Watch Fit 5 features a 1.82-inch AMOLED panel with 480 x 408 resolution and brightness of up to 2500 nits. That is already a strong number for outdoor visibility and should make the screen easier to read during runs, gym sessions and bright summer days.

The bigger story is the Pro version. This model reportedly uses a 1.92-inch LTPO OLED panel with the same resolution but a peak brightness of up to 3500 nits. If accurate, that would put it among the brighter displays currently available in the fitness watch segment. The use of LTPO should also help with power efficiency, particularly for always-on display use.

Huawei is also said to be upgrading the materials. The regular model uses reinforced glass, while the Pro moves to sapphire crystal, which is a welcome addition at this price point.

Same battery, familiar endurance

Both watches are expected to pack a 471mAh battery. Huawei’s claimed figures suggest up to 10 days of maximum use, around 7 days under typical conditions and roughly 4 days with always-on display enabled.

Those numbers are very much in line with what users now expect from Huawei’s fitness-focused wearables. Battery life has consistently been one of the stronger points of the company’s watches, and it looks like that remains the case here.

Connectivity is also said to include Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and built-in GPS across both models, which keeps the essentials in place for contactless payments and phone-free outdoor workout tracking.

Pro model leans harder into sports and health

Both models are expected to ship with Huawei’s TruSense platform and the usual set of sensors including heart rate, temperature, barometer, accelerometer and magnetometer.

The Pro version, however, reportedly adds ECG support and a dedicated depth sensor for diving. It is also tipped to support free diving up to 40 metres, which gives it a more serious sports angle than the regular version.

Offline colour maps are also expected, along with automatic workout detection and a broad set of sport modes. For many users, that combination may make the Pro a more attractive alternative to some higher-priced multisport watches, particularly if Huawei keeps its usual strong battery performance.

At 27.5 grams for the standard model and 31.6 grams for the Pro, both should remain light enough for all-day wear and sleep tracking.

Taken together, this looks like Huawei is not just doing a routine annual update. The standard Watch Fit 5 appears to refine what already works, while the Pro seems to push the line further into premium fitness watch territory with better materials, diving support and ECG. If the leaked pricing holds, the €100 gap between the two models could make the choice fairly straightforward depending on whether those extra hardware features matter to the buyer.
