Atmotube Plus & Pro: next generation wearable air pollution & weather trackers
Breathing unhealthy air has become an inevitable part of daily life for many of us. This is particularly problematic for those that live in big cities. But it doesn’t need to be this way. Atmotube Plus and Pro are portable devices that will alert you when the surrounding air is not healthy. They sense changes in your environment in real time to help you make better choices.

For those of us that follow the crowdfunding scene, Atmotube is not a new name. The company turned to Indiegogo some two years ago to fund their first portable air quality monitor. While the device worked pretty much as advertised, in our review we found that its main sticking point was short battery life. Only seven or eight hours of battery juice was not nearly enough and pretty much defeated the intended purpose. This was extended to around 2 days on Atmotube 2.0. The company is now back once again with its next generation trackers.
Just like the original, Atmotube Plus goes with you wherever you go, and monitors air pollution caused by harmful gases and a wide range of Volatile Organic compounds (VOCs). The gizmo also keeps tabs on atmospheric pressure, air temperature and humidity. The sensors have been improved, as has battery life. The tracker will now keep going for a full week between charges.
Atmotube Pro comes with all this and more. Apart from dimensions, the main difference is the PM sensor. It has the ability to detect PM1, PM2.5, and PM10 pollutants, such as dust, pollen, soot, and mold spores.
All real-time measurements are accessible from the app on your mobile phone – together with your personal Air Score that motivates you to avoid the most polluted places and live healthier. The app also displays a map with all your readings and readings from other Atmotube users around the world.
“Air quality has a significant impact on our lives. Good outdoor and indoor air quality are crucial to our well-being. An average person automatically takes over 20,000 breaths daily, and unless we encounter a problem, we never think about WHAT we breathe in and how air components can affect our bodies,” said Vera Kozyr, co-founder of Atmotube
“But, there are potential dangers lurking in the air,” Kozyr continued, “such as PM pollution, VOCs, and various harmful gases – both indoors and outside. Moreover, according to WHO, 92% of the world’s population lives in places where air quality levels exceed WHO limits.”
Atmotube is looking to raise $40,000 to make the new trackers a reality. And just a few days into the campaign, it looks like they’ll hit their goal comfortably. If you’d like to contribute, Atmotube Plus is going for $59 on Indiegogo and the more feature packed Atmotube Pro for $112. Backers can expect a spring 2019 delivery.
