The latest Garmin Forerunner 245 & 945 Betas add on PacePro

The functionality helps users run smarter over various types of terrain. It does this by offering elevation-based grade-adjusted guidance that takes into account your personal pacing preferences.
These can be set ahead of time in a Garmin Connect course or by selecting a distance and defining what the segments/miles/laps should be.
Best of all PacePro coaches you in real time so you can slow and speed up your run as necessary. Put simply, it acts like a supporting tool to help you pace yourself over race courses which are not flat.
The watch lets you see your target split pace, actual split pace, distance to next split and more. Users also get a detailed PacePro splits breakdown in the app along with a chart showing when your pace was slower or faster than your goal.
When Fenix 6 was launched Garmin said they would be bringing PacePro to other devices but didn’t specify which would get it. It was widely rumored that the Forerunner 945 and 245 would get the feature.
This has now been confirmed by the latest Beta firmware releases. While the Forerunner 945 comes pretty much with everything you’ll find on the Fenix 6, the 245 does lack the barometer. According to DC Rainmaker, to get PacePro working on the 245 you’ll have to upload a pre-set course from Garmin Connect and it will calculate the pace/elevation.
