Three million Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6’s sold globally

The Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6 has shifted 3 million units since its official launch in early April. The wearable has recently been made available for purchase in the US, UK and other countries.

The impressive 3 million figure is according to Zeng Xuezhong, Vice President of Xiaomi Group and President of the Xiaomi Mobile Phone Division. This performance mirrors what we’ve seen in recent years confirming the Mi Band is still king of the budget fitness trackers. It follows the 1 million figure we wrote about on April 17th.

Mr Xuezhong took to his official Weibo account to share the impressive performance.

One million Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6’s sold, Global Edition now available

To remind, the Mi Band 6 was announced at the end of March with sales starting on April 2nd. Typically, Xiaomi releases the device in June but has opted to do this a bit earlier in 2021.

The wearable brings a number of improvements over generation five. One of these is something that we expected last year, an SpO2 sensor. This allows you to take blood oxygen measurements on demand.

The other big upgrade is the larger display. This has become a tradition. Pretty much each year Xiaomi bumps the size of the display a bit. We’re not sure where it can go from here as the latest device has almost no bezels around the 1.56 inch AMOLED. Xiaomi says the display on generation 6 gives users 50% more screen space than with the Xiaomi Mi Band 5.

The device also ups the number of sports modes. Out of 30 that you can track, 6 are with auto-recognition.

Other than there are no significant upgrades this year. But you still get all the great functionality of predecessor devices, including the awesome battery life.

The 3 million figure is particularly impressive considering that for a few weeks the wearable was only available in China. The good news is that the global edition has been released recently and you can pick it on Amazon.
